It follows Ember, a half fae who is trapped in a bargain she was guilted into by her conniving step mother. their story was sweet and of course it had its well-known tropes such as enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, etc. I have yet to read a book by her when I would go "Oh, I think this will take me a week to read" or "I'm not in a mood to continue reading, but have to push myself". When she isn’t writing, she’s watching dog videos or having dance parties in the kitchen with her daughter.

It also follows Franco, a fae prince who is misunderstood and rarely lets people see/know his true self to the point that he lets people spread a reputation about him that is mostly a series of unfortunate misunderstandings.I will honestly say I went into this book because of this phrase “ ACOTAR meets Bridgerton in this standalone fairytale retelling of Cinderella“. Now this book is marketed as ACOTAR meets Bridgerton…the Bridgerton part – I totally get as it features a social season in which all young women are trying to find a husband. everything, as the story goes, falls into place as it should and thus, justice has been served and love prevails.

My frustration when Ember was backed into a corner only enhanced my feelings and attachments towards the story and characters. The plot knots that Tessonja wrote her protagonists into were genuinely airtight in terms of difficulty and I was definitely satisfied with how she undid them with time. If you are left behind or without the gown I’ve gifted you, the tickets will turn to ice and shatter, rendering them useless. But when feelings emerge on both sides, she starts to wonder if there\'s more to their contrived courtship than either of them planned. He also has a reputation that proceeds him, so every woman or mother is throwing themselves or their daughters at him. ANyway, good story, and now I'm probably going to ruin my social life (again) by reading the other two books in this not-series. Their relationship was slow burn, going from hate to friendship and then to love, offering us delicious banter, touching confessions, sweet scenes and a little bit of steam.

I was immediately caught up in Ember and Franco's enemies to lovers romance and I didn't want it to end. But when feelings emerge on both sides, she starts to wonder if there's more to their contrived courtship than either of them planned.Be it kindness shown unexpectedly, standing up for oneself and one’s future against someone you love, be it assuaging one’s own guilt and trying to do the right thing and fighting fear and doubt and hoping that love triumphs in the end and never giving up without trying at least once and allowing oneself to be vulnerable to failure.

I don't know if I should dive into the next book of this series or stop what I'm doing and watch some Disney movies. But when her stepmother sets her eye on Franco, the Lunar prince, and wants to use the Social Season as a means to marry off her eldest daughter, Imogen, Ember finds herself even more entangled in her stepmother's schemes. Your face could be hideous by traditional standards, and it wouldn’t diminish your beauty, for I’ve seen the tapestry of your emotions. If you like slow burn romance, fake engagements, and snarky fae royals, then you\'ll love this swoon-worthy story in the Entangled with Fae series.Just because your namesake places you amongst ash and cinders, doesn’t mean you should seek cosmetics from a chimney. I also enjoyed that although this is stand alone the story and romance felt well rounded and complete at the end. As if they weren’t enough to deal with, a chance encounter with the arrogant Prince Franco leaves her humiliated and in a fiery rage. Since Cinderella would have been too obvious, Ember was such a great choice and definitely perfect for this MC.
