About this deal

As for the Galaxy Watch 4, this is the best smartwatch for anyone who owns a Galaxy smartphone. If you own a different Android phone, it’s still a worthy choice for your next smartwatch, but there are caveats around the features mentioned above. Battery time is based on our own laboratory measurements, and may vary depending on factors such as device settings, usage patterns and operating conditions. There’s also the issue of seemingly-strong smartwatches not performing well in the real world, offering terrible battery life and poor build quality, despite having decent specs sheets. You’ve also got elements like compatibility to consider. Apple Watches, for example, only work when paired with an iPhone, making them a poor investment for Android users. Android users aren’t safe either; the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and 6 Classic will work on any Android, but only Samsung phone users will be able to access the whole suite of features. While the design hasn’t changed much from the Watch 4 it is still a great looking device, with slimmer bezels than the Pixel Watch and a more premium construction than any Fitbit. This model has more memory and a better chip than older Samsung watches, and swiping through menus and booting up apps is speedy. The 40mm variant we tested was compact and stylish, but the 44mm model is the preferred option for anyone with larger wrists.

The screens on both Galaxy Watch 4 models look bright, and we found them easy to read. The resolution is also impressive, with the 40mm watch featuring a 396 x 396 resolution and the 44mm model taking that up to 450 x 450. That’s 330 pixels per inch for both models. Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch SE require iPhone Xs or later with iOS 17 or later. Galaxy Watch4 Classic has a water resistance rating of 50 meters under the ISO standard 22810:2010. It is not suitable for diving or high-pressure water activities. If the device or your hands are wet, they must be dried thoroughly prior to handling. There’s 16GB of storage on both models of the Galaxy Watch 4. We found that about 8GB of this was taken up with the OS and preloaded apps, which leaves you with the same again for your own apps and music. The default setting for snoring detection is off. Users can turn the setting on with their smartphone at anytime using the Samsung Health App 6.18 version or above. Battery life tends to last 3-4 days of moderate use, which is decent for a smartwatch such as this, and the charge speeds (1 hour 22 minutes to full) are decent but not best-in-class.

Given those caveats, there's plenty to like about the watch's design. There’s a virtual rotating bezel – a returning feature from the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2– which, in conjunction with two buttons on the right-hand side, allows for easy navigation around the smartwatch’s menus. Some may miss the physical rotating bezel from the Galaxy Watch 3, but this is a good alternative. Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a water resistance rating of 100 metres under ISO standard 22810. It may be used for recreational scuba diving (with compatible third-party app from the App Store) to 40 metres and high-speed water sports. Apple Watch Ultra 2 should not be used for diving below 40 metres. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and can diminish over time. For additional information, see support.apple.com/en‑gb/HT205000. These wearables are also made for health and fitness, offering several advanced features. They come with sensors to measure movement and vibration, so they know whether you’re standing, sitting still, walking or working out. It's also worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will probably land in or around August 2022, so you might want to consider waiting for that. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 release date and price Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: Price and availability The fitness features here aren’t hugely different to what we’ve seen before, but there is a new body composition tool that gives you a rough idea of your body fat percentage. We’ve found that GPS, heart rate monitoring and other fitness features are well thought out on the Galaxy Watch 4. Advanced insights from the National Sleep Foundation is only available on a smartphone paired with the Galaxy Watch4 Classic.

Also added to the SE 2 is Apple’s new accelerometer which allows the watch to detect if you’ve been in a car accident before calling the local authorities. Of course it’s the type of feature that hopefully you should never have to put to the test, but it does give some peace of mind to know that it’s there. Apple Watch Series 9 has a water resistance rating of 50 metres under ISO standard 22810:2010. This means that it may be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. However, Apple Watch Series 9 should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and can diminish over time. For additional information, see support.apple.com/en‑gb/HT205000. Requires a Galaxy smartphone running Android 7.0 or above. We think it’ll work well for runners with its onboard GPS and all the main metrics most runners need. It’s relatively slim and stylish too, while offering voice assistant support for Siri or Google Assistant, notifications from your phone and a battery that can last for up to five days (if you turn off the always-on display). Watch-Mobile Interworking for cycling available on Galaxy Watch4 series with Samsung Health ver 6.21 or later. What really helps the TicWatch to stand out (particularly against the Pixel Watch) is its phenomenal battery life. Under the right circumstances, it’s entirely possible for the Pro 5 to get from Monday to Friday on a single charge which just absolutely decimates the competition in this area. Even the latest Samsung watches struggle to get past two-days of use. Irregular rhythm notification requires the latest version of watchOS and iOS. It is not intended for use by people under 22 years old or those who have been previously diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF). Features are subject to change. Some features, applications and services may not be available in all regions or all languages. View complete list.
