About this deal

The discontinuation of Fright Knights also marked the end of the basic concept of the Castle theme from 1984 onwards, where the different subthemes also represented several factions that coexisted in a consistent environment and would often appear together in one set. The themes of the following years were self contained subthemes with different factions of their own that did not not have any connection to those of other subthemes. Accessory elements include Lloyd FS’s new-for-June-2019 tornado spinner toy and ‘powered-up’ hood element, Cole’s katana holder, Akita’s wolf head and cape, and ice armor for the Ice Emperor and General Vex. The new Castle theme will combine elements from Kingdoms and Castle (2007). It will offer a new story, yet the royal elements are the same as Kingdoms; Lions and Dragons. However, the colors will be blue for the lion knights and red for the dragon knights, somewhat similar to the 2007 Castle theme. Sets [ edit | edit source ]

Given its advancing years, it still provides a smooth and exhilarating ride – even for those considerably older than the target market. It isn’t in the realm of 'scary' rollercoasters, but its ground-hugging layout is still a lot of fun.

More To Do

The Royal Knights were the first Lego theme to have skeletons, starting with the first ever skeleton set "Skeleton Surprise". Their leader was the Royal King. Their largest set was the Royal Knight's Castle (6090). This faction also introduced the fan favorite silver longsword, which is used by the Royal King. The ride begins at a sedate pace by going through a tunnel with fantastic models made from Lego depicting a medieval castle scene, complete with a king and queen, a jester, a crossbow-wielding guard and a drunk priest. It also throws in some fantasy with a Merlin look-alike and, as the name suggests, a huge red dragon with smoke coming out of its mouth and nostrils.

FAN VOTE - HELP CELEBRATE THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LEGO GROUP!, Lego Ideas blog, posted January 17, 2021. Lego Castle was a Lego theme based in a fictional medieval world, featuring knights and castles. It was introduced in Europe in 1978 and North America in 1981, and was supported continuously until 1999. The name was reused for two other, single-theme environments, one from 2007 to 2009 and the other in 2013. Other similar medieval Lego themes have included Knights Kingdom, Knights Kingdom II, and Kingdoms, and are included here. Lego Castle sets were marketed under the Legoland banner until 1991. Lego decided to change and add Lego System in 1992. Weapons include Cole's silver-colored katana and gold-colored hammer, Akita's dagger, the Ice Emperor's Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu weapon, General Vex's ice spear, Blizzard Sword Master's 2 ice katanas and Blizzard Archer's crossbow. A short-lived extension of the late-'80s Forestmen line, 1996's Dark Forest sets went as far as to recycle the stag shield crest in Forestmen. The faction featured a diverse band of tree-dwelling rogues and robbers, led by a leather-vested scoundrel imaginatively named Rob N. Hood, according to LEGO Mania Magazine.Farshtey, Gregory; Lipkowitz, Daniel; Hugo, Simon (2020-10-01). LEGO® Minifigure A Visual History New Edition. Dorling Kindersley Limited. pp.32–34. ISBN 978-0-241-50202-0. In 2013, a new version of castle returned releasing 5 sets, 4 of which are already out, and one that will be released in August. The Crusaders were the stronger of the first two factions of Castle. Their crest featured a crowned lion in a red, blue and yellow pattern. In Canada and Australia, they were initially known as the Lion Crest until the 1990s when they returned to the Crusaders name. The incredible attention to detail means there will likely be bits you didn't even notice on your first ride, allowing the opportunity to get the same level of joy on second and third visits. Its length stretches 423 metres and reaches a top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). It was built by WGH Transportation as a traditional gravity-driven rollercoaster and was one of the first additions to Windsor's flagship theme park following its opening two years prior. The Ninja theme launched in 1998. In contrast to Fright Knights, Ninja took its influence from a more realistic starting point and was set in mountainous Japan with medieval buildings. It had many elements of the ninja warriors from feudal Japan. [6] Knights' Kingdom (2000) [ edit ] Although Lego has not released a new line of medieval-themed sets since the end of Castle III in 2013, Lego has released, under other lines, several standalone sets which are stylistically consistent with many of the previous Castle themes. This Castle theme from 2007 does not have human factions fighting each other but one human kingdom, represented by the Crown Knights that struggles against several groups of fantasy creatures such as the Troll Warriors or the Skeleton Warriors. 2008 also introduced Dwarves into the Castle subtheme. In 2002, a Lego Castle themed land was introduced to Legoland Deutschland Resort, featuring Caterpillar Ride, [15] Royal Joust, [15] Fire Dragon, [16] Dragon Hunt [17] and Gold Panning. The minifigures were elaborately designed and featured new torso pieces, faces, helmets and armor pieces. The buildings, however, had a rather simplified design, which was also seen in other themes of that era, e.g. in Town Jr., a method of building later called "Juniorization". This theme was the first Castle theme to feature two female minifigures: Queen Leonora and Princess Storm. Knights' Kingdom was discontinued in the following year, and there would be no new Castle sets until 2004. The Forestmen theme was introduced in 1987 when Lego Castle released the first Forestmen set Camouflaged Outpost (set 6066). In 1988, Forestmen's Hideout (set 6054) was released, followed by Forestmen's River Fortress (set 6077) in 1989 and Forestmen's Crossing (set 6071) in 1990. In 1996, a similar theme called Dark Forest was released, which featured an amoral band of forest outlaws.
