Not gonna lie, at some parts I was a bit confused as to what the hell was going on, but that could be a me problem. A great choice for fans of A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay, Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and Orphans of Bliss, edited by Mark Matthews. VERDICT With similarities to the horror movies Flatliners and Bodies Bodies Bodies, minus the humor, Chapman's story comes to a head as readers begin to understand that Ghost has so much more of a morbid meaning in this enthralling addiction horror tale.

If you are looking for a spooky, creepy and drug fueled, ghost seeing ride then I recommend this novel you won't be disappointed.

I also felt like I could relate to these characters because they all came from what seems to be an academic creative writing program at college, and then went into the “real world” a little unmoored, kind of drifting and trying to find a path and nail something down, and I don’t know, that all just felt very personal. I get that this is a toxic relationship, but there was a failure to show why Erin couldn't make up her mind. Addiction is probably the more obvious of the two, and while I think there could have been potential for it to come off as hamfisted or after school special-esque, Chapman always makes it feel earnest and super, super disturbing.Synopsis* Erin hasn’t been able to set a single boundary with her charismatic but reckless college ex-boyfriend, Silas. Unfortunately I found things getting a little drawn out about three quarters of the way through which can really suck for a slow reader like myself but I stuck it out and the ending picked right up and had my heart beating and my knuckles turning white!
